Interview: Kay de Wolf on a podium at Lommel, staying MXGP & Deegan

We caught up with Kay de Wolf who fought through the pack in both motos to take a hard-earned second place overall despite still suffering from his foot injury.

We also asked Kay about the upcoming MXoN, Haiden Deegan and staying MXGP- but could America still be in his future?

Kay said of his day in Lommel: “It was a tough one. We’ve worked on my starts, but we’ve got to do some more work on them. I think we’re getting there, but we need to be more precise on them and need to be more consistent. So, we’re going to work on it. It’s not a worry around this track because, like you see in the second moto, I could get back. So, it will be more of a problem in Sweden.

“But yeah, we’re just going to work on that and I’m just happy to be on the podium, learning. If you looked around four to five weeks ago, I think it was, we were sitting in the hospital and we were even doubting if we were still going to race this season at all. So, I’m just here trying to survive the season and learning and that’s what we’ve done. So, I’m really happy with today and I’ve learned a lot again.”
