Haiden Deegan showed grit and speed to overcome bad starts and even briefly passed Jett Lawrence in moto one to go 5-4 for fifth overall in a strong ride in his 450 debut but there was still improvements to be made – especially in the starts!
Deegan said of his 450 debut in the latest Deegan video: “That’s a wrap, it was good, 5-4 on the day, consistent day, that’s what we wanted, to be in the top five and continue to build. I’m excited for Hangtown, that’s a good track for me, come out swinging there.
“Do a little work this week, dial the bike in a little more, get my starts better, start up front with the boys and I feel like that’s the way to get on the podium or even win a moto. Bad starts aren’t great, having to fight from the back, but I made the best of it and it was a good day.”
