It looked like Elias Escandell was going to take pole but Janis Reisulis put in his best lap right at the end to snatch pole position.
Escandell will be happy with his pace though putt in the second fastest time ahead of his countryman, Francisco Garcia.
Noel Zanocz was fourth fastest with Liam Owens rounding out the top five.
