The Latvian motocross team lineup has been announced for October 3–5, when they will represent our country at the Motocross des Nations taking place at Ironman Raceway, Indiana, USA. The team includes brothers Jānis and Kārlis Reisulis, as well as Pauls Jonass!!
The Motocross of Nations is the most anticipated event of the season for both riders and fans. It is the only race of the year where athletes compete as national teams, and the only race that brings together the best riders from different continents and championships.
This year, the team’s goal at the Motocross of Nations—often called the “Olympic Games of motocross”—is to fight for the best result in history.
As confirmed by LaMSF Motocross Commission chairman Raivis Zīrups, this year’s European Championship leader in the 250cc class, Jānis Reisulis, will race in the MX2 class, his brother Kārlis Reisulis will compete in the MX1 class, while the decorated Pauls Jonass will line up in the MXOpen category. Mairis Pumpurs has been included in the team as a reserve rider.
The Motocross of Nations for solo motorcycles will take place on October 3–5 at the U.S.-based Ironman Raceway, built in 2012 and officially opened in 2014 as part of a broader motocross infrastructure project.
Considering the project costs, with a total budget of €60,000, potential sponsors are invited to apply to help make this ambitious project a reality. Support will ensure the opportunity to send the strongest and most competitive lineup to represent Latvia at the international level, covering all necessary logistics and air transport, as well as shipping the riders’ and team’s technical equipment. All information about donation opportunities to support the Latvian national team can be found on the official LaMSF website – www.lamsf.lv!
The Latvian team faces a serious challenge ahead, but we are confident that with joint efforts and support, our riders will demonstrate determination, professionalism, and the ability to overcome the toughest conditions on the track.
