Young Dane, Mads Fredsøe had a new challenge this year as he made the move up to the EMX250 championship after inking a deal with the Beddini GasGas Factory Juniors team. It was a solid season for Fredsøe considering it was his first year in the class and he showed glimpses of what he can do.
After the eleven rounds of the championship, Fredsøe ended up a respectable ninth in the championship. Going into the 2025 season, there’s no doubt he’ll want to try and become a consistent top five rider in the class. With the likes of Valin, Lata and Valk moving up to the MX2 World Championship there’s every chance he can do exactly that.
We recently reported that the future of the Beddini GasGas Factory Juniors team is currently in doubt which means Fredsøe has had to be on the look out for a new ride.
We understand that Fredsøe will end up at the Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna team in what will be his second year in the EMX250 class. It’ll also only be the second years of racing for the Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna team who were a new team in the paddock this year.
The team had an impressive season with Nico Greutmann as he finished sixth in the EMX250 series and will want to become one of the main contenders. It will be possible if he can get good starts as he has good pace. Liam Owens from Australia was also with the team this year but injury cut his season short but he’s expected to be back for redemption in 2025.
The team are expected to retain both Greutmann and Owens for the 2025 season and with the introduction of Fredsøe there’s no doubt it’s a strong rider line up for the EMX250 season.
Lyonel Reichl was also under the awning this year but the team have confirmed they’ve parted ways with him after the 2024 season concluded.
“We‘d like to thank Lyonel Reichl for his commitment in the 2024 season riding for our team. For the upcoming year we Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna and Lyonel Reichel will be parting ways. We wish him all the best for his future”, the team shared on social media.
