In the opening moto at a fast Pala track, it was the fast starting Justin Cooper who took the holeshot with Jett Lawrence in hot pursuit. As soon as the Aussie found his way past for the lead it was domination in an impressive moto win.
Hunter Lawrence was fourth on the first lap but passed Hammaker and Cooper to finish second in a Lawrence 1-2 with RJ Hampshire ending up a strong third.
The second moto was a similar story but this time it was young rookie, Nicholas Romano who took the holeshot on his Star Yamaha with Jett Lawrence right on his rear wheel. It didn’t take long for the Aussie to make a move and comfortably winning the moto.
It was on between Jo Shimoda and Hunter Lawrence for second with the latter looking faster but was finding it tough to pass. On the final lap he made it happen though for another Lawrence 1-2.
Shimoda rode well to come home in third for third overall and the final step on the podium – there was no American rider on the podium!
