Lisa Leyland cauight up briefly with Jeffrey Herlings to get an update on his injury situations a he confirms he is talking the full year off so no MXoN at Red Bud v Tomac!

Herlings said: “The surgery didn’t go to plan and the recovery took longer, then at one point we thought about going to the US becuase my season for racing MXGP for a championship was kind of screwed but then the recovery took too long so we decided to heal up properly. I needed an operation on my other foot I hurt three or four years ago, so we took this year off to be ready for next year. Even though I won the championship it was always bothering me.

“I’ve watched a lot (mxgp), if I watch it really hurts becuase I know I should be there with the top guys and I’m there on the sofa not competing, it gives me a lot of motivation to train hard through the winter to go into next year 100% ready and battle with the boys again.
