Isak Gifting looked set to go pole in MXGP on the JK Yamaha only for Tim Gajser to spoil the privateer party with his final lap of the session to go 0.9 seconds quicker than the rapid Swede!

Romain Febvre was third with Lucas Coenen fourth despite a crash on one of his late flying laps, the Belgium was fortunately unhurt. First round winner, Maxime Renaux, was fifth.

In MX2 Mathis Valin showed some searing speed in the ruts of a drying Cozar to go quickest with another EMX250 rider from last year, Cas Valk, going second to underline the strength of the MXGP pyramid.

Simon Langenfelder was third with Farres shining in fourth at home and Benistant with a late lap for fifth despite casing the triple big time early in the session!

Kay de Wolf was eighth just ahead of Everts and behind Adamo with Coenen sixth.
