Team owner, Tim Mathys has confirmed that Standing Construct Honda will close their doors. It’s sad for the sport as it was a fantastic team and they will certainly be missed in the MXGP paddock.
The team did step away from the paddock in the past and made a quick return so fingers crossed something similar can happen and we’ll see them back in the future.
We would like to wish all those involved with the team the best for the future.
Mathys posted the following update on social media:
What an incredible journey it has been.
We’ve celebrated 8 GP wins, 21 podiums, an MXON victory, a solid 3rd in the MXGP World Championship – not to mention countless top 5 finishes…
But above all, we made unforgettable memories and had a blast along the way.
Thank you to everyone who was part of this adventure, especially my right-hand man Wim van Hoof, who brought the magic year after year.
And to our amazing fans: your support has meant the world to us, thank you so much for being with us every step of the way!
