Should Mewse have been penalized for jumping on a waved yellow flag?

During the second MX2 moto at the British Championship opener, Conrad Mewse who showed some phenomenal speed on the day appeared to jump on a waved yellow flag which you can see below.

Mewse had just passed Gifting to get himself into the lead and ended up winning by a gap of just over four seconds.

We believe that after seeing the footage, the Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee team lodged a protest but weren’t successful.

Jumping on a waved yellow flag is something the FIM take very seriously and they would most likely have penalized the young Brit however the ACU decided not to take action. In Mewse’ defense he wasn’t the only rider to do jump on a waved yellow.

You can’t take anything away from Mewse’ speed on the day as yet again in the UK he produced some amazing speed and will be looking to bring that to the the GP series.

Meanwhile in the MX1 class it’s thought that a team also lodged a protest against Tommy Searle who was using a line that could be deemed course cutting.

It’s only the first round of the British Championship and there’s plenty of drama already!
