RUMOUR: Nicolò Alvisi heading to BUD Kawasaki for 2027?

Italian youngster Nicolò Alvisi could be set for another change of manufacturer for the 2027 season, with the talented teenager rumoured to be heading to French-based team BUD Kawasaki for the upcoming season.

Alvisi has enjoyed a solid rookie campaign in the EMX250 Championship with Maddii Honda, having switched to Honda after spending many years racing with KTM. Despite the change of manufacturer and the step up in class, the recently turned 17-year-old has been very solid throughout the season, finishing sixth in the championship standings.

The Italian was also the highest-placed rookie in the EMX250 Championship, edging out fellow Italian Francesco Bellei in the final standings.

Alvisi already boasts an impressive CV despite his young age. He won the 2023 EMX85 Championship before following that up with the 2025 EMX125 title, establishing himself as one of Italy’s most promising young talents.

His first EMX250 podium came at Teutschenthal, Germany, where he delivered consistent results across the two races, going 6-4 to secure third overall. That remains his first and only podium in the class to date.

BUD Kawasaki move on the cards?

With Francisco Garcia securing a full factory Kawasaki ride for his rookie MX2 World Championship season in 2027, BUD Kawasaki have been on the lookout for a replacement. We believe that Alvisi is thought to have been chosen to fill the vacancy which could see him under the BUD Kawasaki awning in 2027.

If the move goes ahead, it would represent another significant change for Alvisi, who would switch from Honda to Kawasaki after just one season with the Maddii Honda team. The move would also see him relocate to Hossegor, France, where he would be worked to work with experienced trainer Thierry van den Bosch.

The potential switch could provide Alvisi with an important opportunity to continue his development in the EMX250 class while working within a team that has a strong record of developing young talent and winning titles.

BUD Kawasaki have previously helped Mathis Valin and Francisco Garcia secure EMX250 Championship titles before progressing onto factory Kawasaki MX2 rides. Alvisi will be hoping to follow a similar path if the rumoured deal comes to fruition.

For now, the move remains unconfirmed, but Alvisi could be preparing for an exciting new chapter in his career.
