RUMOUR: Gebben Van Venrooy Racing interested in 2025 GP return with new team?

The Gebben Van Venrooy Racing team have had a lot of success in the MXGP paddock running different brands throughout their time as a team: Kawasaki and most recently Yamaha.

The team really enjoyed working with Calvin Vlaanderen and even won a GP with him under the awning but unfortunately after they were in talks with Fantic for the 2025 season, a deal never materialized. It meant the team were forced to leave the paddock and are currently having a sabbatical.

We understand that the team are interested in a Grand Prix return for the 2025 season. Whilst nothing is yet signed discussions are ongoing that would see them back in a paddock but if things do go according to plan things will be very different.

The intention right now is to return but with a new brand for the team: KTM machinery. Despite the team being focused on the MXGP World Championship in the past, they will concentrate on the MX2 World Championship in 2025.

Rumours suggest that Gebben will not be involved in the 2025 project but Van Venrooy are keen on the new project. Klaas Hattem is expected to remain as team manager.

There were rumours earlier in the year that the team would have Valerio Lata and Cas Valk under the awning but to our knowledge they will only run one MX2 GP rider in 2025 and that is expected to be Cas Valk. Lata is expected to still race the MX2 World Championship in 2025 but with a different team and brand.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as and when we hear more but there’s still work to be done for all the plans to fall into place ahead of the 2025 season.
