Ken Roczen has admitted he was a bit “blindsided” by his team announcing he was racing in 2027 with the German seemingly not made aware they were going to publish the decision on social media when they did!
Roczen said he didn’t have a problem with it and later confirmed the decision to race next year on his own social media while he was in New Zealand.
Speaking to MotoOnline, Ken said: “I didn’t (know it was coming). Yeah, it’s not like I care at this point, you know what I mean? But I just I haven’t given it much thought at this point, and I really just wanted to get this race, next weekend and Paris.
“I just want to get it out of the way. And I really wanted to have people stop asking me about it. But honestly, I think the only way to really achieve that was actually to put it out there and just rip the band-aid off.
“I was a little bit blindsided by it, too. But I’m fine with it. You know, I followed it up at night yesterday evening. And yeah, it’s time to represent number one. “
As for the racing Roczen dominated, winning all three motos but he was given a test in moto one when Christian Craig caught Roczen with Ken admitting he was trying too hard on the slick track before slowing down to go faster in the final two motos.
