Roczen on crashing out of the lead

The rider who has shown the most consistent speed over the first three rounds and probably could even have the red plate is Ken Roczen!

Roczen won his heat at A1 in style but went down in a pile up out of turn one in the main, finishing tenth. He did then get a podium at San Francisco but even that was after stalling in turn one and, now, at San Diego, Roczen was leading until he crashed then needed some pitlane repairs eventually taking 14th.

But really, Roczen had the pace for a podium each night, and could easily have the red plate – but that’s racing!

As it is, Roczen is still in contention, albeit 18 points behind new championship leader, Aaron Plessinger.

Roczen said: “I was leading…😔 maybe it just wasn’t meant to be yet. Everything was going good until i got slightly off balance and i think my foot peg grabbed the rut and bucked me. My front end was so twisted i barely made it back to mechanics area for a pit stop. Of course i stalled it along the way again 😫 I m holding my head high as i am riding well, my starts are good and i am really enjoying my motorcycle. Things like this are part of racing. On the other hand if there is a rider that deserves to get that win, it’s @aaronplessinger_7 I am super happy for you. Cowboy Up, brother! 🤠”
