Chase Sexton and Cooper Webb took off into a race of their own with Webb shadowing Sexton all race long not letting him get away and showing him the front wheel when he got close enough and with two minutes to go the pressure worked with Sexton hitting the deck in the whoops and handing Webb the win, the win Webb told us he so badly wanted on press day – and he delivered when it mattered.
Aaron Plessinger had a great ride for third with Roczen fourth and Eli Tomac a sudbued fifth and never looking a threat for the podium as Roczen pulled away. Jason Anderson went down trying to pass Justin Barcia on lap one taking them both out, but he worked his way all the back to sixth and even had Tomac in his sights at the end!
Hunter Lawrence took a memorable 250 East race win after coming from outside the top five to pass race-long leader Nate Thrasher on the final turn with a block pass to take a fantastic win. Lawrence was the hunter and refused to give in when he got to second place passing Max Anstie and slowly but surely cut into the lead that was over six seconds at one point and when back makers came into play on the last lap Lawrence pounced decisively.

Lawrence: “Waow that was awesome! I’m still hyped up, what a ride. I have some work to do on the starts this week. What a race to have at home, first race in Tampa, that was bad arse.”
Max Anstie took third in another strong ride with Tom Vialle coming from a first lap crash and outside of the top ten to sixth after Michael Mosiman who got taken out by Lawerence as the Aussie powered his way through the field then crashed in the sand on the last lap to hand Vialle a hard earned and strong sixth place. Haiden Deegan was again very good, taking a heat race win and backing it up with a fourth in the main just ahead of Jeremy Martin.
