Jett Lawrence predictably went fastest even despite an injury to his hand in Q1, saying it went numb for a while after he clipped it off a post! But he still came out in Q2 and went faster than the opening session.

Justin Cooper put in a late lap for pole in the 250s with Tom Vialle dropping from 4th to 11th in the second session, once again pretty baffling as he searches for set-up on a spring fork after not being able to use his air fork from MXGP. Brit Joel Rizzi, a full privateer in his first AMA MX, was in the B session but impressed going 21st fastest – he could get points in the motos!
Carson Mumford had a huge crash in Q1 and tried to ride Q2 but pulled out leaving him going to the line in 16th. See the spectacular off here:
