Race results: MXGP World Championship RD3 – Argentina – Gajser wins again

In the opening MXGP moto of the day it was Pauls Jonass who took the early lead and was looking great out at the front. Unfortunately, he then crashed which saw MXGP rookie Maxime Renaux take over at the front with Tim Gajser right on his rear wheel.

Despite pressure from behind, Renaux barely made a mistake and took a fantastic win. The French rider took his first MXGP race win and said he wasn’t 100% fit – we believe after Mantova he dislocated his shoulder so under the circumstances it was a superb race.

Jonass was fourth behind Seewer before an issue dropped him down to sixth but he has the speed as he was looking good at the front.

Jorge Prado won’t be too happy by finishing fourth as Gajser gains more championship points on his main rival.

In the second MXGP moto it was the Tim Gajser show! Jorge Prado took the holeshot but Gajser made an early moved and comfortably took the win. Maxime Renaux had another good race passing Prado to come home in a distant second.

It looked like Jorge Prado had third in the bag but Ruben Fernandez had other ideas as he made a move on the final lap to come home an impressive third and the best Spaniard in moto two.

Tim Gajser has now won all three MXGP overalls – who can stop his momentum?
