Race results: MXGP World Championship RD18 – Gajser ends season on a high in Turkey

Maxime Renaux took a superb victory in the opening MXGP moto in what was a superb race! It was Mitch Evans who lead the early stages but Renaux passed his teammate, Seewer for second and then closed up to Evans before making the pass to pull away at the front.

Behind Renuax, there was all sorts happening! Febvre looked to have third in the bag before crashing and then losing his rhythm. Perhaps the most impressive ride for Valentin Guillod who was third on the final lap with MXGP champ, Tim Gajser right on his rear wheel. In his efforts to stay third he then crashed on the final lap costing him at least a fourth – he ended up sixth.

Mattia Guadagnini rode really well after a bad start to come through to fourth and what about Alberto Forato? He rode superb to come all the way through to an impressive fifth.

In the second moto, it was Romain Febvre who took a great start on his KRT machine and just like in moto one, Mitch Evans was flying during the opening laps. Maxime Renaux got another good start but then washed out the front leaving him nearly dead last!

Gajser was behind Jorge Prado who didn’t make things easy but he was able to make a move stick to win the GP but couldn’t close up to Romain Febvre who rode superb to win a moto and get back on the podium.

Seewer had a solid day finishing 2-3 for second overall.
