Race results: MXGP World Championship RD11 – Febvre wins at Lombok

Race One: It was Romain Febvre who was leading as they emerged from the first corner of the opening race with Ruben Fernandez, Jeremy Seewer and Jorge Prado behind him. The French rider pulled away at the front while Fernandez crashed out of second whilst Prado passed Seewer to get himself into second. Febvre looked comfortable at the front but Prado kept the gap at around three/four seconds but then with three laps to go started to close and apply the pressure. Prado made the move with two laps to go and the cut right across Febvre which left the Frenchman shaking his head. It was an impressive win for Prado to extend his championship lead even further. Glenn Coldenhoff ended up a strong third on his Factory Yamaha.

Race Two: It was Jorge Prado who held the early lead in the second moto but Romain Febvre made a couple of quick passes and it didn’t take him long to get into second – it was on at the front! The pair had a great battle and traded positions a few times before Febvre made a move stick and started to pull away. He ended up taking the win for the second overall win in a row! On the final lap there wasn’t much between Prado, Coldenhoff and Seewer in an exciting battle for second and just when it looked like Seewer would make a move he lost traction and just couldn’t make a move stick.
