Race results: MX2 World Championship RD9 – Everts wins his first GP at Teutschenthal

Race One: Belgian Motocross is in good hands! Lucas Coenen excelled in the very technical conditions in Germany. He made quick passes on Van de Moosdijk and Everts and didn’t hang around dominating the opening moto. Everts rode well to come home a superb second as he’s also enjoying the technical track. Roan van de Moosdijk had third in the bag but made a mistake on the very last lap promoting Andrea Adamo up to third – he now has the championship lead as he gained points on all his MX2 title rivals.

Big respect to both Jago Geerts and Kay de Wolf as both just showed how much they want this world title going through the pain barrier. Geerts was riding in a superb sixth before a crash demoted him back to thirteenth. De Wolf had a bad start but despite being able to add much weight on his ankle made a number of passes climbing up to eleventh.

Race Two: Coenen was in the lead ahead of Everts although this time the gap wasn’t quite as big but he was looking good at the front but then a mechanical saw him DNF! It left Everts at the front and he rode superb to take his first MX2 race win and with that his first GP overall victory, a special day in his career. Adamo came home in second ahead of championship rival, Benistant.

Mikkel Haarup rode really well for fourth ahead of Van de Moosdijk. Geerts dug deep to finish seventh with De Wolf in tenth even after a small tip over.
