Race One:
What a week it’s been for Rene Hofer! He’s waited all year for a race win and it’s all clicking into place at Arco di Trento. The Austrian led every lap and pulled away from MX2 champion elect, Maxime Renaux to take another impressive win.
Jago Geerts took a good start in second but collided with Bastian Boegh Damm on the first lap which seen him buried down the pack. The Belgian ended up coming back to thirteenth. With Renaux taking second there is now a possibility he can win the title after moto two.
After his crashes on Wednesday, Tom Vialle was clearly riding in a bit of pain but was able to hold onto fourth ahead of Jed Beaton and Thibault Benistant.
Race Two:
The second moto was all about Maxime Renaux! He passed Tom Vialle and comfortably won the moto to take the overall win but more importantly clinched his first World Championship title.
Jago Geerts took a good start but had an issue which resulted in a DNF – it looked like he caught his foot on a bank. Rene Hofer was sixth on the opening lap but also crashed – he got back up to eighth but it wasn’t enough for a podium as Ruben Fernandez took his third podium in a row.
Mikkel Haarup rode a great race to come from outside the top ten to fifth!
