Race results: MX2 World Championship RD14 – Arco 1

Race One:

It was Tom Vialle domination as he took a holeshot and never looked back to bring home another moto win. It was Isak Gifting who was in second but he had Thibault Benistant and Jago Geerts for company. Benistant made a mistake dropping him back to sixth and then had a bike issue which resulted in a DNF.

Geerts passed Gifting with a lap to go to secure second and keep hopes alive for the overall victory. After a bad start for Ruben Fernandez he passed Kay de Wolf on the last lap for fourth.

Maxime Renaux had a very bad start but was able to charge through back to sixth.

A lot of water went down on the track to make things very slick and technical for the riders in moto two. Tom Vialle grabbed the holeshot ahead of his team mate, Rene Hofer who would then crash which dropped him down to fifth.

However, Jago Geerts closed down Tom Vialle and put the pressure on as the pair set a very very high pace. In the end Geerts couldn’t get close enough to make a pass but both set their fastest lap times on the final lap to show how hard they were pushing.

Ruben Fernandez had a good day going 4-4 to get back on the podium ending up third overall. Championship leader, Maxime Renaux crashed at the first corner which see him having to come back from dead last – he was able to get back up to eighth.
