It was a dramatic opening EMX85 moto with Liam Bruneau taking the holeshot and holding the early lead. It looked like it would be a comfortable win but then with two to go Nicolo Alvisi caught him and it was on for the last lap but Bruneau held on to take the win. Riccardo Pini rode well to pass Dex Kooiker for third. Jarne Bervoets recovered from tenth to take fifth.
In the second moto, Alvisi who just ran out of time in the opening moto, held the early lead and looked great at the front. Bruneau was in second and did catch at one stage but Alvisi was able to respond to take an impressive race win and become champion. Kooiker rode well to finish third to secure a bronze medal.
