Race One: Max Werner got the holeshot in race one but it didn’t take long for Lata and Valk to get into first and second. There wasn’t much to split the pair but then with a few minutes to go a back marker crashed and Lata already committed couldn’t avoid the fallen rider and went down with him.

It meant Valk took the win, he was looking great in rock hard conditions. Van Erp didn’t get the best of starts but put in a real charge to get back to second – a Dutch 1-2 in hard pack.

Valin ended up third with Lata behind him who was understandably fuming. Greutmann didn’t have a good start but rode great to get back up to seventh.

Joe Brookes was strong in twelfth with Billy Askew fourteenth on his first EMX race back from injury.

Race Two: The second moto was superb racing between the front three – Lata was leading the way with Valin and Van Erp right on him with not much to split the way.

With a couple of laps to go, Van Erp really applied the pressure and passed Valin before the French rider passed him back. Van Erp was determined though and made a move stick this time, 2-2 to take the overall win and an emotional one.

Gavin Towers had a good ride for fourth but Cas Valk will be frustrated as pace isn’t the problem but a bad start was.

It look Valk to long to pass Brookes and Werner – he did catch Garib for fifth but didn’t have enough time to make a move.

Brookes had a good ride for eighth with Askew again solid in thirteenth.
