Race One: Noel Zanocz took the holeshot on his JM Honda and led from the get go around a very technical Ernee track. He had Janis Reisulis for company as the pair went at it and set a very high pace at the front of pack.
It came down to the last couple of laps, Reisulis tried everything but Zanocz held on to take an impressive race win – you could tell by his celebrations how much it meant.
Gyan Doensen quietly had a good ride in third even if he was over thirty seconds behind the front two but it is still a good ride. Francisco Garcia didn’t have a good first lap as he got passed a couple of times but he ended up a solid fourth with Simone Simone rounding out the top five.
Billy Askew brought home a solid tenth after battling with Alexis Fueri most of the moto.
Race Two: It was Ivano van Erp who took the holeshot in race two with Gyan Doensen also getting a good start in second. Reisulis was third and trying to apply the pressure but then had a crash on one of the downhills before picking himself up.
Zanocz had a lot of work to do as he was buried on the first lap with a bad start. The JM Honda rider rode superb to get all the way up to fourth – to secure the overall win! He was even on Reisulis’ back wheel on the final lap.
Van Erp had a tough start to the season and then an injury so it’s nice to see him ride more like himself to bring home a moto win. Doensen was also strong to bring home second overall. Race two was a Dutch 1-2 at a rock hard track – times have changed!
