Race results: EMX250 RD5 – Van Erp victorious at Kegums

Race One: It was the fast starting Dutch talent, Ivano van Erp who took the holeshot ahead of his team mate, Karlis Reisulis as they set the pace on the opening lap. Marc-Antoine Rossi was the man on the move though at a track with very unpredictable dirt. He passed both men and then just controlled things at the front – it looks like France have done it again with another bright young talent. Kay Karssemakers and Andrea Bonacorsi were locked in a battle for third before a backmarker got in the Dutch riders way allowing Bonacorsi to pounce and take third. Van Erp rode really well to come home a very impressive second ahead of his team mate.

UPDATE: Rossi was docked ten positions for not respecting a waved yellow flag so the win ended up going to Ivano van Erp with Rossi back to eleventh.

Race Two: The second moto was a superb ride by the Dutchies as they were loving the conditions. Van Erp held the early lead before being passed by Rossi but Rossi then tipped over which let Van Erp get back to the front. It was Karssemakers who was on the move though as he was fifth on the first lap but didn’t take him long to get into second. He then pressured Van Erp who upped his game but with four laps to go Karssemakers made the move to take his first EMX250 moto victory. Second was enough for Van Erp to take the overall win. After his earlier crash, Rossi got back up to third with Bonacorsi recovering to fifth after being buried down in eighteenth on lap one.
