Race One: After conditions were sticky but rideable in the opening EMX125 race, conditions were totally different for the EMX250 riders as the track has quickly changed into muddy conditions. Cas Valk got a good start and passed Ivano van Erp on the first lap to dominate proceedings. It was chaos behind him but Mathis Valin ended up second despite some pressure towards the end from Max Werner but the German then dropped it.
Valerio Lata had a strong last lap as he found his way around Maxime Grau to take third and some important championship points. Saad Soulimani didn’t mind the brutal conditions as he finished a strong fifth.
Race Two: Ivano van Erp got another holeshot and this time was looking up to the challenge being in the lead as the VRT Yamaha rider led for the first half. Valk was looking comfortable in second but Lata then started to close the gap to the Dutch rider and that’s when Valk made his move. The Gabriel SS24 KTM rider then got to the lead passing van Erp. Lata didn’t take long to get past either and then it was on at the front.
Valk had late race pressure from behind but he didn’t make any big mistakes despite the challenging circuit and held on for a big win. Van Erp ended up third in the race but Valin secured the final step of the podium with a fourth despite a big crash at the beginning of the race. Soulimani again impressed with another fifth ahead of Greutmann.
Billy Askew rode well for ninth on his DRT Kawasaki but got lapped to show the speed of the front two.
