Cooper Webb who became a dad for the third time this week celebrated by being quickest on a dry Q1 in Cleveland but Eli Tomac crashed hard in the whoops forcing a red flag while running P2!
Tomac tried riding Q2 but went into the mechanics area after a couple of minutes and shook his head before riding back to the pits.
Back on track and it was Hunter Lawrence who won the fastest lap shootout with a flying Cooper Webb with Malcolm Stewart third. Ken Roczen and Jorge Prado rounded out the top five.
Cole Davies went quickest in the 250 class over Seth Hammaker on the last lap but wasn’t impressed with Valentin Guillod knocking him down earlier in the qualifying session with the Kiwi saying the former MX2 GP winner was a hazard!
Davies went quickest again in Q2 confirming he is the man to beat tonight.
