Qualifying race results: MXGP World Championship RD6 – Spain

The MXGP qualifying race was initially red flagged after a start crash. Romain Febvre who actually got a good start looked to get hit behind and then it was carnage with the French rider coming out worse. When the race restarted it was Jorge Prado who held the early lead pulling away from Jeffrey Herlings – it looked like it was a comfortable win but then with three laps to go Herlings put the hammer down. Prado just about held on for the win at a brutal, dry and rough track.

Jeremy Seewer came home a distant third and was battling with Maxime Renaux before the French talent had an issue leading to a DNF. Mattia Guadagnini rode well for fourth ahead of Alberto Forato in fifth.

After a crash Ruben Fernandez got back up to seventh.
