MXGP – Qualifying race result:
Mitch Evans led from start to finish ahead of teammate Tim Gajser and Calvin Vlaanderen to take his first big win at MXGP level on a very slick track just two weeks after that big crash at Lommel!
Barely holding back the tears, a smiling Mitch said: “It’s been such a long time coming but man, I’ve dreamt of this day for so long, it’s only a qualifying race but man it feels good.
“I’m holding back the tears right now but we need to keep it together for tomorrow buy I just want to say a huge thanks to my brother, he has been with since Indonesia and the progress we have made with the bike and with me, it’s been awesome.”
