Portugal reveal 2023 MXoN team

The trio that will defend the Portuguese colors at the 2023 Motocross of Nations, which will take place in Ernée – France, is already known.

A trio with a mix of experience and youth, who will be at their best to represent Portugal in yet another participation in the biggest race on the world Motocross calendar.

Paulo Alberto is the captain of the team, playing in the OPEN category. We remember that Alberto was the national Motocross champion in MX1, as well as in Supercross in the SX1 and SX Elite classes. A season where he completely dominated in Portugal, returning to the team for which he debuted in 2011, this being his 7th participation.

Luis Outeiro is the name chosen for MX1. This year he was sidelined for part of the season due to injury, but we remember that he was champion of MX1 and MX Elite in 2022, and is also one of the main candidates in the CNMX races in which he competed. Despite still being very young, Outeiro made his debut in the MX das Nações in 2018, now embarking on his 4th participation in this race, for which he has reinforced his preparation over the last few weeks.

Making his MXoN debut is Afonso Gomes. Junior MX Champion in 2021, he returned to the titles this season by winning the SX2 Championship. At just 17 years old, he is one of the young talents in national motocross, demonstrating clear evolution throughout the season. He is currently competing in Brazil, just like Paulo Alberto, preparing himself in the best possible way to make his debut with national colors at the 2023 Motocross of Nations.

The trio that travels to Ernée has thus been defined, with the race taking place on the 7th and 8th of October, where the first objective is to guarantee qualification for the MXdN 2023 finals!
