Byron Dennis has been presented with an opportunity to race in Europe as the Australian talent has secured a fill-in ride with the Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM team for the next two rounds of the EMX250 Championship. With injuries leaving the team short on riders, Dennis has been handed a golden opportunity to showcase his speed on the international stage.
The Australian will first make his debut for the team this weekend in the ADAC Youngsters Cup at Gaildorf before lining up in the EMX250 European Championship for the next two rounds of the series in Sweden and the Netherlands. He will look to make an impression against the best talent in Europe.
Dennis arrives in Europe after an impressive domestic campaign, finishing fourth in the Pro Pirelli MX2 Australian Championship, a series won by Alex Larwood. His consistent performances with KTM Australia helped facilitate the deal with the German-based Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM outfit.
The opportunity came about after the team lost both Liam Owens and Roan Tolsma to injury, leaving a vacancy in their line-up whilst the pair recovery.
For Dennis, it represents a major step in his career. Racing in Europe has long been a goal for many Australian riders, and strong performances in EMX250 could open further doors for the talented youngster.
His busy end to the season doesn’t stop there either. After completing his EMX250 appearances, Dennis is also set to contest the final two rounds of the MX2 World Championship in China and Australia with his setup from back home, giving him valuable experience at the highest level of motocross.

Dennis now has the chance to test himself against Europe’s best up-and-coming talent, with several high-profile races still to come before the season concludes, he will be hoping to make the most of this opportunity and prove he belongs on the world stage.
