No Benistant at MX2 World Championship opener

Hand Corvers has revealed that Thibault Benistant is not expected to compete at round one of the MX2 World Championship in Matterley Basin, England, on the 20th February, thanks to a knee injury and looks likely not to be racing until round three in Argentina.

Benistant is still in recovery mode from the injury last year that halted a very impressive rookie campaign that saw the Kemea Yamaha rider win motos and finish eighth in the series.

Thibault still has a lot of work to do, said Corvers in a pre-season interview you can read here. He just started to ride a bicycle. He won’t be ready for Matterley. We expect him to be back on the bike in the beginning of March. If everything goes well, we hope that Thibault can make his comeback in Argentina, on March 20. When completely fit, Thibault can fight for the podium and for the win.”
