MX1 race results: International Italian Championship RD1 – Gajser wins Riola

In race one, it was Romain Febvre who took the holeshot from Glenn Coldenhoff and Tim Gajser. The Slovenian wasn’t hanging around though as he quickly passed Coldenhoff and Febvre to get into the lead. It looked like the Honda rider might pull away at the front but Febvre was hounding him and kept it close.

With two laps to go, a couple of backmarkers appeared to get in the way and then Febvre looked to settle for second.

Yamaha riders, Maxime Renaux and Jago Geerts both started outside the top five but they made passes on Coldenhoff and Fernandez for third and fourth respectively – there wasn’t much to split them!

Glenn Coldenhoff grabbed the holeshot on his Fantic in the second moto but he had Tim Gajser hot on his heels with Jago Geerts third.
