Pauls Jonass will miss today’s race action in Turkey after injurying his thumb during yesterday’s action, his Standing Construct team have confirmed.
The team stated on social media: “Unfortunately no Pauls Jonass today at the MXGP of Turkey. In a small crash yesterday he injured his thumb which got all swollen last night. He tried to ride this morning but it’s impossible to hold the handlebar. Examination in the hospital showed that there is a tear in the ligament and a small piece of bone where the ligament is attached has been ripped off.”
It’s been a tough year for Jonass who, despite showing some serious speed, has been hampered by niggling injuries all year.
