It was SuperTuesday as the gate dropped on race two of a three-race residency in Indianapolis, the fifth round of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season. Sporting a brand-new Fly Racing Kinetic K121 race kit, Joey Savatgy overcame a mid-pack start to again finish inside the top 10.
Joey Savatgy showed his speed early in the day as he laid down the 4th fastest overall qualifying time. In 450 heat race 1, Joey found himself deep in the pack after the first turn. He quickly started passing riders and moving through the field and into the top 10. He found himself in a 4-way battle for position and eventually secured 6th place at the checkered flag. Another mid-pack start in the main event had Joey working double time early in the race to move forward. He worked his way from 16th place, slicing his way through the field to inside the top 10 with a handful of laps to go. The FMF Vision supported rider kept his sights forward while making a late race charge to finish 8th at the checkered flag.
Joey Savatgy: “Another good night. While my starts didn’t do me any favors, I had the speed and felt good out on the track tonight. Things are headed in the right direction. We will continue to make little adjustments and be ready for a top five finish on Saturday.”
Justin Bogle had the flow in his heat race, as the Sweet Life CBD supported rider worked his way through the field and into the top 10, crossing the finish line in 8th place. In the main, Justin started at the tail-end of the field. After working his way forward, Justin crossed the finish line in 16th place.
The team now prepares for round 6 of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series, the third and final race in Indianapolis this coming Saturday night.
