Jeremy Van Horebeek and team Belgium head to VMXdN at Foxhill

Belgium have announced their team, returning to compete at VMXdN Foxhill August bank holiday 24-28 this year.

Their first rider to be announced, and leader of the team is Grand Prix legend Jeremy Van Horebeek, joining him on Team B & I Vintage is Tom De Belder and once again, returning for 2023 is Mike Vanderstraeten.

The name of this squad remains as B & I Vintage, which is owned and managed by Bart and Ilse, and speaking to Ilse she said “what began as a hobby 4 years ago is now a way of life. Vintage motocross and restoring old machines are our passion.”

In 2022 B & I Vintage finished in 7th place in the VMXdN Foxhill International race, and they are super keen to improve on their results for 2023, and with good reason. Speaking to Ilse she commented that “Bart has worked tirelessly to produce a masterpiece in all three machines, so technically everything is set for a super weekend.  Of course, everybody wants to have fun but when I ask Jeremy, Tom and Mike if they are ready the answer is 100%!”

Jeremy Van Horenbeek is an absolute legend of the sport with many years riding the FIM Motocross World Championship MXGP. Plus, in 2007 he rode on the Motocross of Nations team at Buds Creek (USA) with Clément Desalle and Steve Ramon to a podium finish! Since 2007 Jeremy was part of the Belgian MXoN team and represented his country until 2022, with one exception due to an injury in 2011 when he was unable to compete.  In 2012 he took third place in the world championship and 2 years later did even better when he became vice-world champion.  Jeremy is their first rider and the man to watch with number 21.

Mike Vanderstraeten is on the number 20 plate for 2023. According to Ilse he is ‘in love’ with VMXdN Foxhill and that is why he didn’t have to think twice when asked to compete there again. Mike’s career in motocross began in 1996 when he took part in his first race on a Yamaha PW50 and just 4 short years later he became the Belgian Champion in the 60cc category. He later rode in the 125CC category, took a rookie title, and found his place in Lommel riding MX2. In 2022 he rode a Kawasaki KX 500 to compete in the Old Timer Championship in Belgium and will remain on the B & I Vintage team at VMXdN Foxhill 2023 on board a Kawasaki KX250 in the VMXdN Foxhill International race.

Tom De Belder is back in business again!  Tom’s riding career spanned more than 20 years until he retired from racing in 2014, but now Tom is back for VMXdN Foxhill 2023 on number 19 and is currently working on his fitness to be ready for Foxhill, he is hoping to bring home the points riding his Kawasaki KX250. Tom knows all the famous circuits in Europe, and he was a regular in the top ten and that talent isn’t gone.
