Jago Geerts aiming for GP return in Indonesia

Jago Geerts has appeared to rule himself out of a return to GP action in Germany instead planning a return to racing in Indonesia.

It means the Factory Yamaha rider will miss the next two Grand Prix’s with 120 points up for grabs for his MX2 title rivals. Provided Geerts does return at the MXGP of Sumbawa – he’d have ten rounds left to play catch up.

The Belgian posted the following update:

“My wrist surgery was done yesterday by Joris Duerinkx, the famous orthopedic surgeon who has also treated cyclist Tadej Pogacar a few weeks ago. The surgery took about 1.5 hour under local anaesthesia. My ulna and radius bone were put back together with a metal plate and several screws. The good news is that my ligaments are not affected, which makes my recovery easier. Friday I have to go for a check-up. The GP of Sumbawa in Indonesia is now my goal”, Geerts stated on social media.
