We managed to catch up with Tallon Vohland to discuss his very successful career in both America and MXGP that saw Vohland race three of the greatest riders of all time; Jeremy McGrath, Stefan Everts and Ricky Carmichael.
He had this to say about Stefan Everts: He would be the first guy, I would say, similar to Jett Lawrence, where you ride behind him and I was one of those guys, me and Pit Beirer were like that, where we’re just hanging it out, feet off, flying, Bob Hannah style!
And you’re watching this guy and you’re like, goddamn it, why didn’t I catch him? Or even he was on my team and my brother’s out there, always taking a lap time, just like you’re comparing. Okay, yeah. Now you’re a second faster than Stefan.
Then he goes out there and you watch Stefan ride and he looks like he’s going slow. And, oh, shit, he’s a second faster. What are you talking about? You know, it was amazing.
