Injury update: Surgery for Josh Gilbert
Josh Gilbert has revealed that he’s underwent surgery to reconstruct his ACL and meniscus. The Brit picked up the injury towards the end of last year but didn’t expect it to be as bad.
Gilbert had been preparing for his rookie season in the MXGP World Championship but now faces a spell on the side-lines. The main thing is that the operation will help to minimise any lasting effect.
“Absolutely gutted to be writing this post! Today I underwent surgery to reconstruct my ACL and meniscus, I can honestly say I did not expect my injuries to be quite so bad! But it is and I can assure everyone that I will do everything in my power to get back as soon as I can and come back stronger! Sorry to @parhomeshusqvarna and all my sponsors but the racing hasn’t started yet. Thanks to everyone who has already messaged me”, Gilbert stated on social media.
