The opening MX2 race at Hawkstone Park which took place at the weekend had a red flag after a scary crash for young Brit, Ben Mustoe.
The good news is that Mustoe has avoided any serious injury, great news as it could have been much worse… you can see the crash below:
The ASA United GasGas team have posted the following statement regarding his condition:
As many of you will be aware, our young MX2 rider, Ben Mustoe took a heavy hit in the opening race yesterday at Hawkstone Park. We’d like to start off by thanking all who have reached out, expressing concern for Ben’s wellbeing, as well as the organisers, track crew and medics who were on the scene following his crash and doing their utmost to deal with him in a safe and timely manner.
We are happy to share that Ben hasn’t suffered any major injuries, despite a pretty nasty crash and a few bruises, he is in good health and shares his gratitude with everyone who has wished him well.
Ben’s riding this season has been above and beyond what we were expecting of him, showing some real speed and determination in a class that boasts a field of talent and names that are respected around the world. Securing P.8 in qualifying and getting a decent start in the first race, running in 7th before his crash – Ben looked as though he was in for some good results, however, as awesome as our sport can be, we are well aware that at times it can bite back.
Unfortunately, yesterday was one of those days and we are happy to be able to walk away from relatively unscathed.
A huge thank you to all of our sponsors who continue to support Lee and the team, your contributions help to keep the wheels turning at each and every round – we hope to provide you all with a further update very soon.
