Red Bull KTM team manager, Ian Harrison, gave an interesting interview to Lewis Phillips with the South African not ready to blame Eli Tomac’s disappointing main event all on the scoop tyre he went back to on Saturday.
Tomac looked back to his best in qualifying and the heat race but a bad start and crash left Tomac finishing 12th and 15 points behind Hunter Lawrence with four rounds to go.
Ian told Lewis: “You can’t pin it all on the tyre. I think I think Eli just didn’t quite get it all together there and then once he tipped over things just went from bad to worse. So it was definitely a tough night for him but I checked with him after the race and he’s gonna go back this week and just work on himself, but he was happy with his setup – that’s what he told us.”
