Fantic ready for Italian season opener and to debut 250cc four stroke

The days leading up to the first round of the 2023 motocross season were frosty. But the sub-zero temperatures did not freeze the spirit of the riders of the official Fantic Racing MX team. Quite the contrary. It made them even more eager to bite the dirt that awaited them in this long season.

And now it’s here. The starting gate awaits the Fantic MX team on Sunday, February 12, in Ponte a Egola (Pisa), where the first round of the Internazionali d’Italia is being held at the Santa Barbara circuit.

The knobby tires of Fantic 2T and 4T motorcycles will be taken to the track by new riders Tom Guyon on the XXF 250, Maximilian Werner, and Elias Escandell on the XX 125. They team up with the confirmed Cas Valk and Alexis Fueri, riding the XX 250.

Hakon Osterhagen will miss the race: the young Norwegian is recovering from a leg injury suffered during a training session last December.

For the fourth year in a row, the team will be led by the experienced Marco Maddii.

“Finally, we come back racing!” said Marco Maddii, team manager of the Fantic Racing MX team. “We are a very young team, but that is precisely why the guys are eager. I see them focused, they want to show their skills, and it’s a good premise for the season.”
