EXCL: Schmicker KTM to step things up in 2024 – MXGP

The Schmicker KTM Racing team were a new team in the Motocross Grand Prix paddock this year with former GP rider and experienced, Jef Janssen the man behind the project.

This year, the team focused mainly on the EMX250 championship as well as the MX2 World Championship with William Kleemann under the awning. The young Danish rider improved a lot over the course of the season.

We believe that the Schmicker KTM team will step things up for the 2024 season and run an MXGP effort as well. They are thought to be close to signing up two MXGP riders and also want to run two MX2 GP riders with Kleemann likely to stay for the 2024 season as well.

The team had been heavily linked to Mitch Evans on the back end of the 2023 MXGP season but it is thought they won’t sign the Aussie due to his ongoing wrist injuries.

The team have also expressed riding a WMX rider for the 2024 season as well so it’s set to be a busy awning for the year ahead but it is nice to see another team putting in a big effort.
