It wasn’t just Chad Reed that wanted to win, his wife, Ellie, wanted it just as much! Right in the heat of the 2005 title chase, Chad got beat by RC, despite starting second right behind Carmichael, Ellie was not happy with his performance – and she let Chad know in this famous clip.
The standards were high, and that’s why Chad won the big titles.
Ellie replied to the video and gave her perspective on the clip nearly 20 years later, saying: “It was a brutal time…tensions were high. Those wins were life. We gave up everything to be there. Not everyone gets that part. We went to war.”
