Haiden Deegan says he won’t be holding back his comments when he moves to the 450 division as he vows to keep being outspoken, but as of yet there is no definitive timeline to move up, that he was willing to share at least!
We asked Haiden in the press conference if he would keep being as outspoken as he is now when he goes 450s:
“Yeah, I don’t care what people think, I will just say whatever I want, that’s just how I will be and that’s how I will be this year too but we got to focus on winning first and then we will start messing with some people!”
Deegan then backed that up immediately saying in the same press conference: “I heard guys like Jett already say I’m not even in his league (see below), which I think is funny because on our best day on a 250 I think he wouldn’t be able to stand a chance, right, on outdoors.”

On making his first appearance at A1 Deegan told us: “There is always nerves but I felt like I kind of learnt how to tame that, I have been in situations where the nerves are hitting the most, I have had a clutch championships, tied in points, I have won a championship by a lot of points, I have kind of figured it out now, being able to control the nerves mentally. It’s A1, there are going to be nerves I feel like I am good at working off the hype and noise.
On going 450 and taking on Jett Lawrence, Deegan said: “I have definitely worked hard to get to the point where people are talking like that (going up against Lawrence). Obviously I have a good team around but 450, I don’t know exactly when we are going there. The goal is to win the supercross title first. The rivalry is cool, no matter what sized bike we are, it gets (people) talking, grows the sport and gets the people to join in each weekend, and that’s kind of the big thing, let the people talk and we will go do our work out here.”
