Deegan on his season so far – expected to be better at the beginning

Lewis Phillips asked Haiden Deegan to grade his season so far and the American admitted it wasn’t what he wanted at the beginning of the season but feels Arlington proved he was the fastest guy.

“I definitely expected myself to be better at the beginning of the season which obviously I was a little slow to start but I feel like got my momentum back. After the last round, I feel like I was able to show everyone that I was the fastest guy, dude, I was last off the starts, if that’s the way to show people, that’s the way to show people!

And he is feeling good heading into the East/West shootout tonight:

Another solid two weeks and I felt really good in practice, I am racer, so my practice days, I am usually not the quickest, for me to be the fastest on practice days it’s going to correlate good to the race.

The track in Indy is VERY soft and rutted, with press day seeing the track break down rapidly which indicates the main event could be pretty brutal tonight with the ruts and one mistake could have big consequences.
