Deegan on winning the title

It’s been a long a season, a lot of work. I have put a lot of work in to get to this position, a lot of work from the team, the family. The fans motivating me, the non supporters motivating me! It’s a huge aspect to get to this point.

The first moto domination and laying up in moto two

This article continues below

I just wanted to make a statement in that first moto, that’s all I cared about, I wanted to see how far I could get the lead, I got it to 25 seconds at one point and fell, dumb mistake, went into neutral trying to gain more time but it is what it is. I think I made statement that first moto.

The second moto I was bured on the start and Iiterally the only thing I was thinking about was holding that title up now that I’d won the championship so it was kind of hard to race ans thinking about that at the same time! Now that’s passed and I’ve got the championship and next week i get to race Ken Roczen so I look forward to that.

It’s time to get on some supercross and hybrid tracks and prep for the SMX title since I got the Pro Motocross title, time to start working towards defending my SMX title.

Admitting he DID break his wrist just before supercross

I ended up breaking my wrist four weeks before the first round I had to get it fixed. I got to ride one week maybe before the first round. Honestly, to win the second round after crashing in the first round too, that was unreal! I couldn’t believe I did it because I didn’t have much training under my belt at all. Getting some wins, getting some experience and to win Salt Lake, that was huge for me, it slowly got better, obviously we weren’t were we wanted to be coming into supercross but I showed my true potential outdoors.

Team USA MXoN

I haven’t got to talk much about it (to anyone), there really is nothing yet, It’s kiond of up to the team to let me know what the deal is.

450 plans?

I still got to win the supercross title. I have to knock one of those off then you have a year to defend so as of now my goal is to try and get that 250 title so I can move up to the 450. I am not going to move up to the 450 without a supercross title, we got to get those goals knocked off first.
