Deegan: I want to dominate!

Deegan, Jett Lawrence,

After an honest Jett Lawrence said his attitude this season remains, “Back then I wanted to smash these guys and destroy them and it’s still the same now,” his impending rival Haiden Deegan is equally outspoken saying, “I want to dominate,” when it comes to the 250 class in 2025.

The mentality is the same for probably the two biggest stars of the sport, even if the riding styles are different – the clock is ticking down on Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan facing off.

And, with Jett not a fan of some US fans not being a fan of him, and Deegan’s partisan fan base about to go in and bat for Haiden, the tension and desire to beat each other will be INTENSE. But we might have two wait another couple of years.

“I’m to the point now I want to win, I want to dominate.” said a typically up front Deegan today, who has Christian Craig in his corner now to help his fine tune his technique as he bids to win his first supercross title.

And motivated Haiden says other riders/people’s words will only motivate him more: “A lot of it comes from people who doubt what I can do on a dirt bike, that motivates me a lot… I try to feed into the talk, say something to me, it motivates me, I need that.”

While Deegan says he will be moving up to the 450s quicker if he wins the 250 supercross title this year, disappointingly, it may still not happen until 2027!

“My main goal is knocking off that supercross title, I have won outdoor and SMX, I feel there is that one unchecked box I need to do. Win the supercross title this year, that’s my goal and, if I can do that it speeds up the process a little bit to the bigger class. The goal is to win the supercross, defend that title and then go from there.”
