David Vuillemin links Jorge Prado to Kawasaki for 2025

In the latest PulpMX Show, David Vuillemin was a guest in the studio and revealed he’s heard from a reliable source that Jorge Prado will be going to Kawasaki for the 2025 season to race the AMA championships – Supercross, Motocross and SMX.

After clinching the 2023 MXGP World Championship title, GasGas give Prado the opportunity to race the opening four rounds of the AMA SX series this year where he showed he is a fast learner and was running top ten in the 450SX class despite no experience racing Supercross.

It now looks like Prado will make the move full time in 2025 but not with the KTM Group.

Vuillemin had the following to say on the PulpMX Show below:

DV: Have you guys talked about Prado going to Kawasaki for three years?

Matthes: Yeah, he rode the bike. I don’t know if I heard a three year contract, but yeah…

DV: Yeah, three years. I heard three years supposedly from a very reliable source. They say, Kawasaki for three years. I love this, I love everything about this. I kind of wanted Marvin (Musquin) to do that, trying to have him leave the Red Bull KTM group and try something Japanese.

It is something different, just try it, you’ve done it… try something else. When I see Cairoli, you know, Red Bull KTM, whatever, I’ll go to Monster Ducati, no big deal.

We see it happening all the time, like Hamilton in F1 (he is joining Ferrari in 2025). When you see Prado is young, has won titles with that company, I guess he wanted to stay with KTM, but they couldn’t guarantee that. He doesn’t want to do it, I guess for the KTM guys at a lesser team (like TLD).
